The true measure of a university’s greatness can be found in the achievements of its alumni and alumnae. The 2016 IEMS Alumni Awards honor outstanding former students of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems and celebrate the achievements of individuals whose professional accomplishments bring prestige to the Department.

New UCF Design Class Brings Art, Engineering Students Together

Dr. Robert Hoekstra, an associate professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems, was recently named an associate professor of art and is co-teaching this spring with art professor Robert Reedy to bring both fields together in the class Advanced Design Lab. Hoekstra is the first at UCF to share a joint appointment between the art and engineering colleges.

Dr. Pamela McCauley, professor in Industrial Engineering and Management Systems, will be receiving the College-Level Promotion of Education award at the 29th BEYA STEM Global Competitiveness Conference in Washington D.C. on February 7, 2015.

Dr. McCauley is being recognized for “demonstrated strong commitment to preserving superior engineering, scientific and technical education programs.”  Congratulations!

$2.6 Million Gift from Presagis

Oct. 28, 2014 - Presagis, a world leader in Modeling and Simulation software, was recognized for their in-kind gift of the Presagis Suite software valued at $2.6 million. Dr. Michael Georgiopoulos, dean, College of Engineering and Computer Science, was presented with a ceremonial check by Jean-Michel Brière, Presagis General Manager, in an event held in the Lockheed Martin Synthetic Environment Learning Laboratory.
