UCF Places 1st & 3rd in National Sales Engineering Competition

April 2016 - Twelve UCF students competed in the second annual National Sales Engineering Competition at California Polytechnic State University. This unique weekend-long event allows participants to improve their sales skills in a comprehensive sales simulation and network with companies from a wide range of industries. In the competition, team members interacted with real industry sales professionals and faced a variety of scenarios in order to come up with the best solutions.

2016 IISE Annual Conference - UCF Undergraduates Present Papers in ISERC

May 21-24, 2016 - Two projects in Work Measurements and Design an IEMS undergraduate course resulted in the submission of two technical papers in the 2016 IISE Annual Conference and Expo’s Industrial Engineering Research Conference (ISERC) forum. Brian Strevens, Jennifer Sawicki and Gam Narapanya presented the papers at the conference during ISERC academic sessions.

Gavriel Salvendy joined the University of Central Florida in August 2016 as a University Distinguished Professor and CAE Link Professor of Engineering and Computer Science. He is also professor emeritus of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University and Chair Professor Emeritus and Former Head (2001-2011) of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tsinghua University, Beijing, P.R. China. He is the author or co-author of 573 research publications including 322 journal papers, and is the author or editor of 47 books. His publications have appeared in seven languages.

Congratulations Jimmy Briggs, 2016 Order of Pegasus

James (Jimmy) Briggs, was awarded the 2016 Order of Pegasus the University's highest honor. Briggs is majoring in industrial engineering and minoring in engineering leadership. During his time at UCF, Briggs, an Eagle Scout, has been a tutor in the Office of Academic Services for Student-Athletes and a student government senator. He is a member and former president of Sigma Pi fraternity and the former vice president for recruitment of the UCF Interfraternity Council. Briggs is a member of the President’s Leadership Council.
